New Albums: DJ Khaled vs Calvin Harris

DJ Khaled and Calvin Harris, two competing producers, have both released new albums.

Khaled's album has a hip-hop/rap feel to it, while as Harris's album title describes, has more of a funk/R&B feel.

Khaled's album "Grateful" includes 23 tracks with 2 singles currently holding the 2nd and 3rd place spots on the Billboard Hot 100. "I'm the One" featuring Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper, and Lil Wayne is number 2, and "Wild Thoughts" featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller is number 3. Other features on the album include Sizzla, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Drake, Travis Scott, Rick Ross, Big Sean, Nas, Betty Wright, Alicia Keys, Nicki Minaj, Jeremiah, Future, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Kodak Black, Migos, Pusha T, Jadakiss, Fat Joe, Raekwon, Gucci Mane, Yo Gotti, 21 Savage, T.I., Young Thug, 2 Chainz, Belly, and Mavado. In true DJ Khaled fashion, his son Asahd is the cover art and is thanked in the last track.

Harris's album "Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1" has 10 tracks with 3 singles. Although his singles are pretty popular, "Slide" featuring Frank Ocean and Migos, is currently only number 55 on the Billboard Hot 100, which is his highest ranking song at the moment. Other artists featured on the album include ScHoolboy Q, PARTYNEXTDOOR, D.R.A.M, Young Thug, Pharrell Williams, Ariana Grande, Future, Khalid, Travis Scott, A-Track, Snoop Dogg, John Legend, Takeoff, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Big Sean, Kehlani, Lil Yachty, and Jessie Reyez.

Some rumors have been circulating that Harris is going to release a second album very soon, based off of the name "Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1", so stay on the lookout.

It may seem as though these two top producers are competitors, but they actually have a collaboration on Khaled's album! "Don't Quit" featuring Travis Scott and Jeremiah, the 11th track on "Grateful", was produced by both Khaled and Harris. Although it is on Khaled's album, the song has a stronger Calvin Harris feel to it.
