What if Pandora's #ListenerLoveDay was every day? It can be.

To celebrate their 10th birthday on September 9th, 2015, Pandora is providing a full day of ad-free listening. They call it #ListenerLoveDay and their slogan points out, "Zero ads. All music. All day." But what if every day was #ListenerLoveDay?

At feature.fm, we know that people enjoy listening to music with zero ads. However, ads have become a staple of freemium music streaming service tiers as they provide a much needed revenue stream to support the royalty cost of free listening. But what if there was a different way? What if streaming services could provide listening with zero ads all the time and still monetize their free tiers?

That is part of our mission. As feature.fm continues to grow, we will provide sponsored songs and music content inside of streaming services so that users can enjoy uninterrupted music all the time. Wouldn't that be nice? Imagine you are listening to your favorite streaming radio station and receive a sponsored song that matches your music taste instead of a car commercial.

feature.fm is an advertising platform built exclusively for music and we want to open the doors to streaming services for artists of all sizes to reach listeners. By letting feature.fm focus on this, it would allow streaming services to focus on their core service offering - building amazing music platforms and services that provide value to listeners.

Sponsored songs don't just help provide a better user experience in streaming services, but also provide artists, especially up and coming artists, with crucial access to fair airplay in front of the right audience.

We believe that feature.fm provides a scenario that results in a win-win-win.

  1. Artists have a much needed channel to promote their music
  2. Listeners don't get interrupted with annoying ads
  3. Streaming services monetize their freemium tiers in a better way

What do you think? Would you like to see sponsored music inside streaming services instead of traditional ads?
